Nintendo formally revealed The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild during a special livestream for E3 2016. Quite a lot of footage has been shown off, highlighting the dozens of new mechanics that the new game has to offer.

During a part of the stream, Aonuma said that the new game “is a result of what we wanted to expand and make a better Skyward Sword. It’s like an evolved or expanded version.” With that having been said, Aonuma respects the idea of having an HD version of Skyward Sword being released. Here’s all that he had to say:

“Yeah it’s definitely possible. As I mentioned earlier in the presentation, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a result of what we wanted to expand and make a better Skyward Sword. It’s like an evolved or expanded version.”

“Putting out an HD version of Skyward Sword and tossing that into the mix might be a little weird,” he said. “It’s always a possibility, so I really don’t know.”

Would you like to see the Wii adventure remastered in HD like Twilight Princess and Wind Waker?
